Left Flange Shaft Seal

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Pressure plate (VW 402)

‹› Punch (VW 412)

‹› Sleeve (VW 415 A)

‹› Thrust piece (3118)

‹› Alignment fixture (3301/4)

‹› Thrust piece (T10243)

Procedure

-

Remove left drive flange. Refer to => [ Left Flange Shaft ] See: Output Yoke/Flange/Service and Repair/Removal and Installation/Left Flange
Shaft.

Remove circlip - 1 -.

-

Remove the ball bearing - 2 -. Refer to => [ Removing the Left Flange Shaft Ball Bearing ] See: Output Yoke/Flange/Service and
Repair/Description and Operation/Shaft Seal and Left Flange Shaft Assembly Overview.

Remove the flange - 3 - with shaft seal.

-

Remove the old shaft seal.

-

Lightly lubricate the outer circumference of the shaft seal and install it as far as the stop with the Thrust Piece (T10243).
