Structural Brace: Service and Repair
Front Suspension

Cross Brace

‹› Cross Brace is only installed on certain vehicle versions. It is located on front plenum chamber cross panel.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

Removing

-

Remove plenum chamber cover rubber seal in direction of -  arrow -.

-

Remove plenum chamber cover - 1 - forward.

-

Remove combi-bolts - 2 - and - 4 -. 

-

Remove cross brace - 1 - upward out of plenum chamber -  5 -.

Left mounting bracket welded to body

Right mounting bracket welded to body

- Arrow - points in direction of travel

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal.
