Secondary Air Injection Combination Valves, Checking for Function and Leaks

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Hand Vacuum Pump (VAS 6213)

Procedure

‹› Hose connections not leaking.

Remove Secondary Air Injection (AIR) system combi-valve, refer to: Left => [ Left Combination Valve for Secondary Air Injection ] See: Service
and Repair/Left Combination Valve for Secondary Air Injection, right => [ Right Combination Valve for Secondary Air Injection ] See: Service
and Repair/Right Combination Valve for Secondary Air Injection.

Connect Hand Vacuum Pump (VAS 6213) to vacuum connection - 1 - on secondary air injection combi-valve.

Connect an appropriate assisting hose - 2 - to Secondary Air Injection (AIR) combi-valve.

Blow into the assisting hose - 2 - using light pressure (do not use pressurized air).

‹› Secondary Air Injection (AIR) combination valve must be closed, it must not be possible to flush.

Operate the hand vacuum pump.

‹› The Secondary Air Injection (AIR) combination valve must open, it must be possible to flush.

If secondary air injection combi-valve does not open:

Replace Secondary Air Injection (AIR) combi-valve, refer to: Left => [ Left Combination Valve for Secondary Air Injection ] See: Service and
Repair/Left Combination Valve for Secondary Air Injection, right => [ Right Combination Valve for Secondary Air Injection ] See: Service and
Repair/Right Combination Valve for Secondary Air Injection.
