Disconnect the ground connector - 4 -.

-

Remove the airbag unit.

-

Place airbag unit so padding faces upward.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, noting the following:

Replace the glove compartment after an airbag has deployed. Refer to => [ Glove Compartment, with Knee Bolster or Knee Airbag ] See: Body
and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Utility Storage Compartment/Service and Repair.

CAUTION!
Before handling airbag units (e.g. when disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can
be done by touching door striker, for example.

Make sure the knee airbag connector engages audibly with the coupling.

Replace the rubber mat.

-

Switch on the ignition with the battery disconnected.

CAUTION!
No one should be in vehicle when connecting battery.

Connect the battery.

‹› If the Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) ( K75) shows a malfunction after assembly, DTC memory must be checked with Vehicle

Diagnostic, Testing and Information System ( VAS 5051 A), cleared and then rechecked.
