3 - Brake pads

‹› Always replace both sides.

‹› Do not disconnect brake hose when changing brake pads.

‹› Removing and installing, refer to => [ Brake Pads, C41, C43, RS4 model 8EC, C43 ] See: Disc Brake System/Brake Pad/Service and

Repair/Rear/Brake Pads, C41, C43, RS4 model 8EC, C43. 

‹› Check pad thickness. 

4 - Brake pad retaining spring

‹› Always replace when changing pads.

5 - Wheel bolts

‹› Removing and installing the wheels. Refer to => Steering and Suspension See: Steering and Suspension

6 - Torx bolt

‹› Tightening specification: 5 Nm

7 - Brake rotor

‹› Always replace both sides.

‹› Remove the brake caliper prior to removing.

‹› Lubricate the contact surfaces between the brake disc and the wheel hub with polycarbamide grease (G 052 142 A2). 

‹› Make sure there is sufficient wear limit.

‹› Allocation, refer to => [ Rear Brake Specifications ] See: Specifications/Rear Brake Specifications.

‹› Thickness, refer to => [ Rear Brake Specifications ] See: Specifications/Rear Brake Specifications.

8 - Bolts, 75 Nm

‹› M10 x 60

‹› Always replace.

9 - Brake carrier with guide pins and protective caps

‹› Replacement carriers are supplied assembled and with sufficient grease on the guide pins

‹› If the protective caps or guide pins are damaged, replace them using the repair kit. Use the grease packet supplied to lubricate the guide pins. 

10 - Banjo bolt, 45 Nm

11 - Brake hose with banjo union

‹› Do not twist the hose when installing.

‹› Remove the caliper from the brake carrier to replace the brake pads. 

‹› Do not twist the hose when installing.

‹› Do not disconnect the brake hose when changing the brake pads.
