‹› Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System ( VAS 5051B)

CAUTION!
Battery Interrupt Igniters (-N253) are pyrotechnic components. The same safety measures apply as with airbags. Observe safety
precautions for work on airbags.

‹› If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (K75) lights up after a vehicle accident, check whether crash data is stored using. If this is the case,

check whether the malfunction 001 resistance too high for Battery Interrupt Igniter (-N253) is entered in DTC memory. If this should be the case,
Battery Interrupt Igniter (-N253) must be replaced.
