Power Steering Pump: Testing and Inspection

Vehicles with 6-cyl. and 8-cyl. gasoline engines with timing chain

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Power steering tester V.A.G. 1402

Remove rear engine cover panel - arrows -.

-

Remove expansion hose - arrow - (counterhold at hex flats on expansion hose).

Note:

Place a cloth under the union to catch escaping hydraulic fluid.

If necessary, unbolt bracket for hydraulic line to give easier access.
