Triple Roller Joint AAR 2900, Outer CV Joint, Replacing

Rubber CV boots are clamped on using Hose Clamp Pliers (V.A.G 1275).

Instructions only apply to stainless steel clamps.

Tightening hose clamp on outer joint

Use Cv Joint Boot Clamp Tool (V.A.G 1682 ) as shown in illustration. Be sure that edges of clamping pliers are seated in corners - arrows B - of
hose clamp.

Tighten hose tie by turning spindle using a torque wrench (do not bend tensioning clamp).

‹› Tightening Specifications: 20 Nm.

‹› Use torque wrench with 5 to 50 Nm range (e.g. (V.A.G 1331 )).

‹› Be sure thread of spindle in clamping pliers moves freely. Grease with MOS2 grease, if necessary.
