Thermostat: Service and Repair

Coolant thermostat, removing, installing, and checking
Removing 

-

Drain cooling system.

-

Remove lock carrier.

-

Remove toothed bel.

-

Remove top idler wheel for ribbed belt (arrows).

-

Remove retainer for front air pipe (arrows.

-

Disconnect coolant hose (arrow) from thermostat housing.

-

Remove bolts -1- and -2- and take off thermostat housing.

-

Remove O-ring and thermostat.

Installing 

Note:  Replace gaskets and O-rings.

-

Clean and smooth down sealing surface for O-ring as required.

-

Install thermostat.
