Test sequence

Insert valve into valve guide until end of valve stem is flush with end of guide. Due to different valve stem diameters, use only an intake valve in
intake guide and an exhaust valve in exhaust guide.

Measure amount of sideways play (lateral play).
Wear limit
Note:

If wear limit is exceeded, repeat measurement with new valves. If wear limit is again exceeded, replace cylinder head. The valve guides cannot be
replaced.

If valve is to be replaced as part of a repair, use a new valve for calculation.
