Compression Check: Testing and Inspection

Compression, checking 

Special tools and equipment

Spark plug wrench 3122 B

^

Compression tester V.A.G 1763

Test requirements: 
^

Engine oil temperature not less than 30°C 

^

Battery voltage not less than 12.7 Volts

Test sequence 

Note:  All cable ties opened or cut during engine removal must be reinstalled at the same locations during installation.

Remove air filter housing.

-

Remove bolts -1- to -3-.

-

Disconnect hose for right crankshaft housing ventilation at position indicated by (arrow).

Note:  Disregard -item 4-.

-

Remove pressure regulator valve and disconnect hose for crankshaft housing ventilation at left cylinder head.
