Check for short to Ground in following wiring:

2-pin connector at wiring

Test box V.A.G 1598/31,

If diode test lamp does not flash:

-

Check for short to positive/open circuit in following wiring.

Resistance: max. 1.5 Ohm

Eliminate Ground connection/open circuit in wiring if necessary.

If there is neither an open circuit in the wiring nor a short circuit:

-

Replace Motronic Engine Control Module (ECM) -J220-.
