Brake Light Switch: Service and Repair
Round Housing

Brake light switch (round housing), removing and installing 

Note:  To ensure a secure fit, the switch may only be installed once.

Removing 
-

Remove driver's storage compartment

-

Unplug electrical connector.

-

Turn brake light switch 45° counter-clockwise to remove.

Installing 
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence; note the following points:

Pull out plunger of brake light switch as far as it will go -arrow-.

Insert switch into its mounting so that retaining tabs -1- and -2- engage in corresponding slots and secure by turning 45°- clockwise.

Note:

Do not press brake pedal while installing switch.

The plunger in the switch is adjusted automatically when switch is inserted.

Check function of brake lights with brake pedal pressed and with pedal released.
