1. Activate the auxiliary coolant pump with the VAS diagnostic tester 5051/5052.

Select 01 Engine electronics >> 08 Read data block >> 132 Select data block.

In the data block 132, the first digit (from left) should be 1.

^ 1 stands for auxiliary coolant pump V51 activated.

^ 0 stands for auxiliary coolant pump not activated.

2. If 1 isn't shown, there are two ways to change this. Use one of the following methods:

^ Guided function >> Select vehicle >> 01 Engine electronics >> Activate or deactivate coolant after-running pump - V51. Perform guided function to

activate coolant after running pump.

^ Self-diagnosis >> 01 Engine electronics >> Function 11 - coding II >> Enter code <60000> to activate hot country version.

3. Ensure the change has been made.

a. Go back to function <08 Read data block>.

b. Select data block 132 and check the appropriate bit (see Figure 1).

4. Check the function of the coolant after-running pump.

a. Under function <03> final control diagnosis, activate the relay for the coolant after running pump -J151.

b. Pump V51 is located behind the left headlamp and should make operating noises.
