Tip: The idler roller bearing is offset toward the front of the engine in the roller. Make sure protective cap groove on the idler roller faces forward. If the
protective cap groove does not face forward, the cap cannot be installed, and the roller will be out of alignment.

6. Torque idler roller bolt to 22 Nm. Install protective cap.

7. With jarring noises, replace the belt tensioner assembly with roller.

8. Torque ribbed belt tensioner mounting bolts to 22 Nm.

9. Install ribbed belt and check belt alignment.

a. Use torque wrench to tighten the hex. bolt of the tensioning roller with 70 + 5 Nm and at the same time tighten the tensioning bolt (arrow) to 22 Nm.

b. Since the tensioning torque changes after a short engine running period, run the engine for 1-2 minutes with varying load change, turn off engine.

c. Loosen the tensioning bolt and check the 70+5 Nm tensioning torque, retighten if necessary and tighten the tensioning bolt (arrow) again with 22
Nm.
