Disconnect hoses from hydraulic oil line.

Unscrew power steering line for power-assisted steering on lock carrier.

‹› The power steering oil cooler line must not be bent under any circumstances.

For cars with automatic transmission, disconnect lines to ATF-cooler.

-

On vehicles with charge air cooler, loosen bolts on hose clamps -  arrows -.

-

Disconnect hoses.

-

Remove gasket for left and right front flap at juncture of fender at lock carrier => [ (Item 1) Lock carrier ] See: Lock Carrier With Attachments
Assembly Overview.

Remove upper lock carrier bolts => [ (Item 5) Screw ] See: Lock Carrier With Attachments Assembly Overview.

‹› A second technician will be needed to hold the lock carrier.

Remove bolt => [ (Item 4) Screw ] See: Lock Carrier With Attachments Assembly Overview.

-

Pull lock carrier toward front.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal.

Bleed cooling system. 

Tightening torques => [ Lock Carrier with Attachments Assembly Overview ] See: Lock Carrier With Attachments Assembly Overview.
