Exhaust Pressure Regulator Vacuum Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

Exhaust Flap Vacuum Diaphragm, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Hand vacuum pump (VAS 6213)

Test Sequence

-

Disconnect hose on vacuum diaphragm for exhaust flap at rear muffler. 

-

Connect the hand vacuum pump to the vacuum diaphragm.

-

Generate vacuum using hand vacuum pump.

‹› Linkage must move toward front.

-

Vent the hand vacuum pump.

‹› Linkage must move toward rear.

If linkage does not move:

-

Check the linkage for ease of movement and check the vacuum diaphragm for leaks.
