Manual Transmission, Checking Gear Oil Level

Procedure

‹› To check transmission oil level, vehicle must be level.

-

Remove oil filler plug - arrow - to check transmission oil.

Check oil level with self-made tool, e.g. a bent wire.

Oil level with transmission code GYH

‹› Specification: The oil level is correct when the transmission is filled up to the lower edge of the filler hole.

Oil level with all other transmission codes

‹› Specification: Oil level 2 ± 1 mm below upper edge of filler hole.

Top off transmission oil if necessary. Specification, Refer to => [ Audi A4 Engine Codes, Transmission Allocation, Ratios, Capacities, from MY
2001 ] .

Install oil filler plug.
