Carefully pry out oil seal with a screwdriver.
Installing

To avoid damaging oil seal - C -, oil seal and selector shaft must only be installed using assembly sleeve 01E 311 120, - item A -.

Pack space between sealing lip and dust lip half-full with sealing grease G 052 128 A1.

Lightly oil outer circumference of seal.

Using tube VW 423, drive in oil seal to a depth of 1.1 mm ±0.2 mm.
