Rocker Arm Assembly: Service and Repair

Roller Rocker Lever

Removing

-

Remove engine. Refer to: Vehicles with manual transmission => [ Engine, Manual Transmission, Removing ] See: Service and Repair/Removal
and Replacement/Engine, Manual Transmission, Removing, vehicles with automatic transmission => [ Engine, Removing ] See: Service and
Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine, Automatic Transmission, Removing and Installing.

Remove camshaft timing chains from camshafts. Refer to => [ Camshaft Timing Chains, Removing from Camshafts ] See: Timing
Components/Timing Chain/Service and Repair/Camshaft Timing Chains, Removing From Camshafts.

Remove camshafts. Refer to => [ Camshafts ] See: Camshaft/Service and Repair.

Mark allocation of roller rocker lever and shafts for roller cam follower for re-installation.

Remove the bolts - arrows -.

-

Thread a M6-bolt into the hole in shaft for roller rocker lever. 

-

Remove shaft from cylinder head and remove roller rocker lever. 

Installing

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

‹› Replace O-rings.

Lubricate bearing areas of roller rocker lever with oil before installation.

Install camshafts. Refer to => [ Camshafts ] See: Camshaft/Service and Repair.

Install camshaft timing chains => [ Installing ] See: Timing Components/Timing Chain/Service and Repair/Camshaft Timing Chain.

Install engine. Refer to: Vehicles with manual transmission => [ Engine, Installing ] See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine,
Manual Transmission, Removing, vehicles with automatic transmission => [ Engine, Installing ] See: Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Engine, Automatic Transmission, Removing and Installing.
