Tighten battery bracket - 3 - using hex socket head screw - 4 -.

‹› Lug at battery bracket must engage in recess at battery base strip. 

With ignition switched off and electrical consumers switched off, connect battery in the following sequence:

Connect positive cable terminal clamp - 2 - by hand to battery positive terminal "+" and tighten nut.

Connect pole shoe - 1 - of ground cable by hand to battery negative terminal "-" and tighten nut.

Connect central venting system hose while observing notes.

Check battery after installation for secure seating.

Stop battery assistance mode at battery charger.

If the battery was not removed and installed in assistance mode, the following steps must be performed after reconnecting the battery:

‹› Activate the radio/radio navigation, clock, power windows. Refer to the Owner's Manual.

‹› Deactivate the service mode on the Telematics control module.

‹› Check radio remote control for function, synchronize radio key if necessary. Inform customer that second key and any additional keys must be

synchronized so that the remote control functions properly. Refer to the Owner's Manual. 

‹› Check DTC memories of all control modules and erase "Undervoltage " DTC if necessary. Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS

‹› After re-connecting voltage supply, ESP Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) only goes out after driving several meters.
