Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1332)
‹› Replace nut for securing transverse link to subframe if damaged. Only use replacement nut listed in replacement parts catalog for repairs.
‹› Because of poor accessibility to inner bolt - 1 - when vehicle is resting on wheels, transverse link can only be removed when subframe is removed.
‹› Measure vehicle after repair. Refer to => [ Wheel Alignment ] See: Alignment/Service and Repair/Wheel Alignment.
Removing

Remove subframe. Refer to => [ Subframe ] See: Subframe/Rear Subframe/Service and Repair.

Separate connection - 1 -.

Swing transverse link upward out of subframe bracket.
‹› When installing cylinder bolt, ensure transverse link is not damaged.

Install, for example, a cylinder bolt with hex socket head M12 x 1.5 x 20 (ET No. N902 268 01) - 1 - in nut - 2 - up to stop.
As an emergency solution, you can also use hex head bolt M12.1.5 x 20.
