‹› The pin in the middle of the tool is centered and faces upward into the cover. It serves as a guide and stop for thrust piece ( T10136/1).

Coat outer circumference of gasket with gear oil.

Place the new sealing ring on the thrust piece ( T10136/1).

‹› Installation position: The open side of the seal faces the cover.

Place thrust piece (T10136/1) and the shaft seal into the cover from the top.

‹› The pin of the pressure application device (T10136 ) serves as a guide from below and also as a stop for thrust piece (T10136/1).

Drive in new shaft seal as far as stop without tilting it.

Fill area between sealing lip and dust lip halfway with sealing grease (G 052 128 A1).

Press flange shaft into self-locking center differential cover with Punch (VW 409) and Punch ( VW 447 i) while placing cover on Pressure Plate
(VW 401) and Pressure Plate (VW 402 ).
