Remove left front exhaust pipe and catalytic converter, if equipped.

Remove nut - 1 - and pull transmission shift lever -  2 - from selector shaft of transmission.

-

Carefully pry off the sealing ring using Pulling Hook (T20143/1) without damaging the selector shaft.

‹› Check the selector shaft for damage.

Installing

To prevent damage to the seal - C -, the installation of the seal and selector shaft must only be performed with the Assembly Sleeve (01E 311 120)
