Differential Mount: Service and Repair

Rear Differential Mount

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Assembly Tool (T40032)

‹› Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A ) 

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1332)

Removing

-

Place Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A ) with Universal Transmission Support (1359/2 ) under rear final drive and secure rear final drive.

-

Remove bolts from transmission supports and rear final drive -  arrows -.

-

Remove the driveshaft from rear final drive.

-

Secure driveshaft to body with wire.

-

Remove combi-bolts on differential mount. 

-

Remove rear crossmember/rear final drive bolts. 

‹› Lower rear final drive enough so that upper bolt can be removed.

-

Remove rear crossmember downward.

-

Use Assembly Tool (T40032) as shown in illustration and remove differential mount.
