Transmission Position Switch/Sensor: Service and Repair
09LA Transmission
Tiptronic Switch
‹› The Tiptronic switch (F189) is integrated into the printed circuit board. The printed circuit board is located under the shift mechanism cover.
‹› It consists of 3 Hall sensors that are controlled by 2 magnets on the cover strip transverse slide.
‹› To replace Tiptronic switch, circuit board must be replaced.
‹› In addition, make sure the magnets on the cover strip transverse slide are properly secured; replace the cover strip transverse slide if necessary.
Removing

Remove cover for shift mechanism. Refer to => [ Selector Mechanism Cover ] See: Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Shifter A/T/Service and
Repair/Removal and Replacement/09LA Transmission/Selector Mechanism Cover.

Press down retaining hooks - arrows - toward the inside and pull off cover - 2 - from guide - 1 -.

Make sure two magnets on the cover strip transverse slide fit correctly - arrows -.
