Engine Control Module: Service and Repair

Removing

-

Switch ignition OFF.

CAUTION!:

BEFORE disconnecting the ECM harness connector, switch the ignition OFF and WAIT at least 30 seconds. Failure to do so may damage the
ECM.

Trim Panel Removal

-

Remove cover from lower right A pillar.

-

Pull back carpeting in right front foot well.

-

Remove screws (arrows) from electronics box cover.

Panel Screw Locations

-

Carefully pull upper and lower cover out of electronics box.

-

Disconnect Motronic ECM from electronics box.

-

Remove hose clamp from vacuum line and pull vacuum line out.

Installing

-

Ensure that ignition is switched OFF.

CAUTION!:

DO NOT connect Motronic ECM with ignition switched ON.

Connect Motronic ECM harness connector to Motronic ECM.

-

Install Motronic ECM tightly in electronics box.

-

Connect vacuum line to Motronic ECM.
