Closed Throttle Position Switch: Description and Operation

Throttle Position Sensor

The Closed Throttle Position Switch and throttle position potentiometer are in one housing. The housing is located on the throttle body and are operated
by the throttle shaft.

The signal from the closed throttle position switch is used for idle speed control, digital idle speed control, idle speed adaptation and deceleration fuel
shut-off.

Closed throttle is recognized by the throttle position potentiometer if the closed throttle position switch signal fails. Idle speed adaptation is also
switched OFF.
