Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
Camshaft Position Sensor
For the locations of the four camshaft position sensors. Refer to => [ Component Location Overview ] See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Service
and Repair/Removal and Replacement.

Disconnect the electrical connector on the respective camshaft position sensor.
‹› The following camshaft position sensors are installed in cylinder bank 1 (right): Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor (G40) and Camshaft Position
(CMP) Sensor 3 (G300)
‹› The following camshaft position sensors are installed in cylinder bank 2 (left): Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor 2 (G163) and Camshaft Position
(CMP) Sensor 4 (G301)

Remove the air filter housing to remove the Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor 3 (G300) on cylinder bank 1.

Remove the coolant reservoir to remove the Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor 4 (G301) on cylinder bank 2.
Installing
‹› Replace the O-ring if damaged

Coat the O-ring with engine oil and carefully press the camshaft position sensor in by hand.

Tighten the camshaft position sensor and connect the electrical connector.
‹› Camshaft position sensor tightening specification. Refer to => [ Ignition Assembly Overview ] See: Ignition System/Service and Repair.

Further installation is performed in reverse order.
