Fuel Pressure: Testing and Inspection

Fuel Delivery, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Hand held remote control (jumper). 

‹› Multimeter.

‹› Fuel pressure test set (high pressure).

‹› Measuring container, fuel-resistant.

Test conditions

‹› Battery voltage min. 12.5 V.

‹› Fuel filter OK.

‹› Fuse (SB81) OK.

‹› Fuel Pump (FP) Control Module (J538) OK. 

‹› Fuel tank at least 1/4 filled.

‹› Ignition switched off.

‹› Observe all safety precautions. Refer to => [ Safety Precautions ] See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Safety Precautions/Fuel

Supply.

‹› Observe all clean working conditions. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Clean

Work procedure

-

Slide the seats forward as far as possible. Then fold seat back forward.

-

Push the battery cover to the side - arrow A - and lift upward - arrow B -.

-

Loosen the negative battery cable terminal nut - 1 - and remove the cable from the battery negative post.
