‹› Union nut tool (T40068 A)
‹› Sealant
Removing
Proceed as follows:

CAUTION!
Danger due to escaping fuel.
‹› To prevent large quantities of fuel from leaking from the fuel level sensor when removing, the fuel tank may only be a maximum of 1/
4 full.

Empty fuel tank if necessary => [ Fuel Tank Draining ] See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Tank/Service and
Repair/Procedures.
CAUTION!
Risk of destroying electrical components when battery is disconnected.
‹› Observe measures when disconnecting battery.

Disconnect battery.

Fold rear bench seat backrest forward.

Remove loading aid frame.
-
Cut through sealing around locking flange cover with electric cutter (V.A.G 1561A) and blade, L-shaped 25.4 mm (V.A.G 1561/22).
