Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Engine support bridge (10-222 A)

‹› Engine support supplement set (T40093)

‹› Engine/transmission jack (V.A.G 1383 A)

‹› Wheel hub support (T10149)

‹› Tensioning strap (T10038)

Removing

-

Remove wheels.

-

Remove left and right wheel housing liner.

-

Remove noise insulation. 

-

Remove crossbrace => [ Subframe Crossbrace ] See: Subframe Crossbrace.

Remove stabilizer bar => [ Stabilizer Bar ] See: Stabilizer Bar/Service and Repair/Front Suspension/Stabilizer Bar.

Remove vehicle level sensor, if applicable => [ Level Control System Sensor ] See: Sensors and Switches - Suspension/Suspension Control
Pressure Sensor/Switch/Service and Repair/Front Suspension/Level Control System Sensor.

Secure left and right wheel housing liner using a tensioning strap (T10038) as shown in the illustration.
