Shift Mechanism Emergency Release

‹› When the battery is disconnected or has been discharged, the selector lever cannot be shifted out of the "P" position. The vehicle cannot be moved

or towed.

‹› By operating the manual release the Shift Lock Solenoid (N110) will release the selector lever when there is no power supply.

Procedure

Remove front ashtray insert.

Pry cover cap in the ashtray housing out using a screwdriver - arrow -.

‹› The shape of the cover caps may differ from the illustration.

Carefully press in the cylinder - arrow - on the shift lock solenoid (N110) using a screwdriver through the center opening in the ashtray housing.
While doing this, shift the selector lever out of the "P" position while the locking button is pressed. 

‹› In this way, the selector lever lock is released in position " P" via the locking lever - 1 -.

‹› If the cylinder - arrow - on the shift lock solenoid (N110) is partially covered by insulation or a wire, press it to the side.
