Outer CV Joint

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› CV joint boot clamp tool (3340)

‹› Circlip pliers (commercially-available)

Removing Outer CV Joint of 88 mm or 108 mm Diameter

-

Secure drive axle with protective covers in vise clamp.

-

Open clamp using hose clamp pliers (3340).

Insert pliers (3340) at front of clamp, as shown in the illustration.

-

Slide back protective boot.

-

Strike a copper or brass drift - A - on CV joint inner race with a hammer.

-

Remove joint and protective joint boot.

-

Remove circlip.
