Parking Brake Cable: Service and Repair

Parking brake cables, removing and installing 

All wheel drive vehicles 

Note: Parking brake cable adjusting components are located in front of rear lower control arms.

Removing 

-

Remove locking component-D-.

-

Counter-hold hex -E- using 13 mm open end wrench and turn adjusting nut-C- in until stop.

-

Slide cable adjuster together.

-

Disconnect parking brake cables from brake calipers.

Note: Be careful not to damage parking brake boot when removing and installing.

Loosen bolt -A-.

-

Remove parking brake cables from retainer.
