Remove the front ashtray insert.

-

Remove bolts - 1 - and - 2 -.

-

Release ashtray - 3 - using a screwdriver -  arrow -, attach screwdriver at opening - 4 - to do so.

-

Remove housing of front ashtray.

-

Disconnect electrical harness connector, if present.

-

Reach through opening of ashtray and press out Access/Start Authorization Button (E408) - item 1 - -  arrow -.

-

Unplug connector.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

-

Install the Climatronic Control Module (J255).

Parking Brake Pressure Switch

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Removing

-

Remove rear center console.

-

Bring seats into rear most seat position.

-

On vehicles with automatic transmission, place selector lever in position "S".

-

Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

-

Reach from bottom into recesses into recesses at Climatronic Control Module (J255) (control head).
