Use Trim Removal Wedge (3409) to unclip.

Beginning unclipping in area - arrow B - of backrest cover - 2 -.

‹› The cover retaining strip can only be unclipped from the backrest cover -  5 - groove with relatively great force.

Remove the seat backrest panel => [ Backrest Cover ] See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Power Front Memory Seats, S6

Disengage lower retaining strips - 1 - (Qty. 3) on backrest frame - 2 -.

CAUTION!
Before handling airbag units (e.g. disconnecting electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can
be done by touching door striker, for example.

Pull cover as far forward as possible in side airbag area in order to be able to remove side airbag.

Remove side airbag => [ Side Airbags, Servicing ] See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Side Airbags, Servicing.

Remove the airbag from the pocket sewn into the cover and engage the airbag in the backrest frame.

Reach from the rear side of the backrest under the upholstery and find the release button - 4 -.
