3. Check the Transmission Control Unit software part number and Software Version per the SVM table below.
4. If the Software Version is lower then the new version listed in the SVM table, perform the SVM update.
SVM Update Instructions
1. Follow all instructions in the attached TSB 2011732 Software Version Management (SVM), operating
instructions.
2. Update the Transmission Control Unit (J217) using SVM action code as listed in the table below if necessary.
3. Perform an adaptation drive to ensure shift quality. The adaptation drive is necessary because the software update deletes all the adaptation values of
the shift elements in the transmission control unit. The adaptation drive must be performed in GFF or Guided Functions.

Diagnostics >> 02- Transmission Electronics 09E >> J217- TCM functions >> J217- TCM adaptation drive.
