Vehicles with foldable rear seat backrests

-

Fold rear seat backrest down.

-

Remove side upholstery => [ Rear Seat Side Upholstery ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Rear Seats.

Procedure for all vehicles

-

Remove rear shelf.

Rear shelf without sun shade => [ Rear Shelf without Sun Shade ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Service and Repair/Removal
and Replacement/Trim

Rear shelf with sun shade => [ Rear Shelf with Sun Shade ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Trim.

-

Remove C-pillar trim => [ C-Pillar Trim ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Trim.

-

Remove rear outer floor assembly anchorage point => [ Outer Rear Floor Assembly Anchorage Point ]. 

-

Thread belt webbing out of belt guide.

Vehicles with pyrotechnic belt tensioners

-

Disconnect pyrotechnic belt tensioner connector. 

-

Remove connector from pyrotechnic belt tensioner ignition pill.

-

Unclip wire from belt tensioner.

Procedure for all vehicles

-

Loosen sides of luggage compartment trim => [ Luggage Compartment Side Trim ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Service and
Repair/Removal and Replacement/Trim. 

-

Pull back sides of luggage compartment trim a bit in upper area. 

-

Remove screw - 3 -.

-

Push belt roller/belt tensioner - 1 - back opposite drive direction until screw - 3 - is located in larger area of keyhole-shaped cut-out.

-

Remove belt roller/belt tensioner - 1 - with noise protection cap - 2 -.

‹› Noise protection cap - 2 - is glued to belt roller/belt tensioner - 1 -.

‹› Noise protection cap - 2 - is damaged when removed from belt roller/belt tensioner - 1 -.

‹› Installing

-

Engage belt roller/tensioner - 1 - (including noise protection cap - 2 -) with screw - 3 - and securing hook - 4 - in keyhole-shaped cut-out in rear
shelf cross member -  5 -.

-

Push belt roller/belt tensioner - 1 - forward in driving direction to stop.

-

Tighten screw - 3 - to specified torque.

-

Secure sides of luggage compartment trim => [ Luggage Compartment Side Trim ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Service and
Repair/Removal and Replacement/Trim. 

Vehicles with pyrotechnic belt tensioners

-

Clip wire into retainer on belt tensioner.

-

Place connector on pyrotechnic belt tensioner ignition pill and lock connector.
