Seat Belt Buckle Switch: Service and Repair

Belt Fastening Detection

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051B)

‹› Engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095)

‹› Fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136)

Removing

‹› The Front Passenger's Seat Occupied Sensor (G128) is only installed on passenger side.

CAUTION!
Observe safety precautions for work on airbags => [ Airbag Inspection ] See: Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Procedures.

Remove passenger seat: => [ Standard Front Seat ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Standard Front
Seats or => [ Power Front Memory Seat ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Power Front Memory Seats.

‹› Remove padding only until Front Passenger's Seat Occupied Sensor (G128) - 2 - has been freed up!

Remove seat pan cover and padding: => [ Seat Pan Cover and Upholstery, Standard Seat ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and
Repair/Overhaul/Seat Upholstery, Covers/Front Seat Pan Covers and Upholstery or => [ Seat Pan Cover and Upholstery, Standard Seat ] See:
Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Overhaul/Seat Upholstery, Covers/Front Seat Covers and Upholstery, Power Memory Seats.

Remove Front Passenger's Seat Occupied Sensor (G128) connector - 2 -.

Carefully remove Front Passenger's Seat Occupied Sensor (G128) - 2 - from seat padding -  1 -.

Installing

To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order. Observe the following when doing so:
