O-Ring on Final Drive Cover, Replacing

O-ring on final drive cover, replacing 09E, 6 Speed AWD A/T

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Old oil collecting and extracting device VAG 1782

Removing 

-

Place old oil collecting and extracting device VAG 1782 beneath transmission.

-

Remove right flange shaft.

-

Remove bolts of final drive cover in reverse order of tightening sequence shown in illustration and remove cover together with outer race for
tapered roller bearing and shim.

Note:

The shim must be the correct size and must not be replaced by a shim with a different thickness.

Installing

-

Replace O-ring - arrow -.

-

Insert differential into transmission housing.
