Do not bend or kink the selector lever cable.
Read out position on Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch F125:
-
On Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 with OBD, select "02 Transmission electronics" with "08 - Read out measured
value block".

"D" position must be shown in display group 4 in display field 4 - 2
If "D" position is not shown:
-
Shift selector shaft lever accordingly until "D" position is shown on Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051.

Ensure selector lever in vehicle is also in "D" position.

Carefully press selector lever cable ball socket - 1 - in this position onto selector shaft lever.
Note:

Take care not to bend selector shaft lever when pressing it on; support it if necessary, as otherwise selector mechanism can no longer be adjusted
properly.

Attach bracket to transmission - 2 -.

Install selector lever cable heat shield with bolts - arrows -.

Install transmission mount and tunnel cross member.
-
Adjust selector lever cable.
-
Check shift mechanism.
-
Install subframe.
