88 mm or 100 mm Outer CV Joint, Servicing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› CV joint boot clamp tool (3340)

‹› Hose clamp pliers (V.A.G 1275)

Removing outer CV joint of 88 mm or 100 mm diameter

-

Secure drive axle with protective covers in vise clamp.

-

Open clamp and remove the protective boot from the outer joint. 

-

Strike a copper or brass drift - A - on CV joint inner race with a hammer.

-

Remove joint and protective joint boot.

Outer Constant Velocity Joint, 88 mm or 100 mm, Installing 

-

Slide joint protective boot onto drive axle.

-

Position protective joint boot between - arrows -. 

-

Before installing joint piece, splines - A - must be lightly coated with grease used in joint.
