Trip Computer: Testing and Inspection
Fuel Consumption Signal, Checking

Connect adapter cable VAG 1598/13 to ten-point instrument cluster connector (black).

Connect adapter harness to VAG 1598 test box.

Set multimeter (Fluke 83 or equivalent) to 2 volt range.

Connect multimeter between sockets 5 and 1 of VAG 1598 test box.

Start engine.
-
Raise and lower engine speed (RPM) between 1000 and 4000.
-
Must be approximately 0.3 - 1.0 volt depending on engine speed
