Brake Proportioning/Combination Valve: Adjustments

Ensure brake system is properly filled and bled.

1. Raise and support vehicle, ensuring there is no load on rear axle, and springs are fully extended.
2. Press lever on brake pressure regulator against stop towards back of vehicle.
3. Loosen nut at axle side of spring.
4. Bend a .28 inch rod and place between spring and bearing, then  torque nut to 15 ft. lbs. and remove rod.
5. Hook tension spring to support.
6. Check brake system pressures as outlined under Testing and Inspection
