Data Link Connector: Testing and Inspection

CHECKING DATA LINK CONNECTOR

Check for voltage supply at the black Data Link Connector (DLC) in vehicle, observe polarity while performing this check:

Terminal 1 goes to Battery negative (-)

Terminal 2 goes to Battery positive (+) (fuse 19)

If battery voltage is not obtained, check wiring using wiring diagram, repair or replace as necessary.

Check wiring for continuity between Engine Control Module (ECM) and the white DLC.

White DLC connector

Terminal 1 goes to 13 of the ECM

^

Terminal 2 goes to 55 of the ECM

-

If there is no continuity, check wiring using wiring diagram, repair or replace as necessary.
