Central Electric Panel With Detail Of Relay Position 6

Check continuity between EVAP frequency valve circuit breaker -S75-, and terminal 31 of fuel pump relay -J17-, relay position 6, using wiring
diagram.

Must be 0.5 ohm maximum.

Check control signal to fuel pump relay.

Reconnect LED tester, between terminal 2 of EVAP canister purge regulator valve harness, and engine GND.

Initiate Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM). See: Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection

LED tester must light up.
Note:
Positive (+) voltage must be available at terminal 2 of harness connector regardless of which Output DTM is called up.
If LED tester does NOT light up:
2-Pin Connector

Connect VAG 1598 Test Box to Engine Control Module (ECM) wiring harness using VAG 1598/5 adapter cable. Refer to VAG 1598 Pin Out
Box Connecting See: Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Scan Tool Testing and Procedures/Scan Tool Testing/Scan Tool
Connecting and Initial Checks/Connecting and Testing VAG 1598 Pin Out Box.

ECM remains disconnected.
Engine Control Module Harness Connector

Check continuity between terminal 2 of EVAP canister purge regulator valve harness connector, and Test Box terminal 37, using wiring
diagram.

Must be 1.0 ohm maximum.
If circuit is open:
-
Repair wiring between terminal 37 of ECM connector, and terminal 2 of EVAP canister purge regulator valve connector.
If continuity is OK:
-
Replace ECM.
