7. Remove sound insulation panel, then the clamping bolt for the ball joint pin.
8. Remove transmission mounts from subframe assembly, Fig. 14.
9. Remove alternator protective tube from subframe assembly.

10. Support subframe assembly with transmission jack OTC 1785, or equivalent, and secure with a strap.
11. Remove subframe assembly mounting bolts, then lower subframe assembly from vehicle. Ensure ball joints separate from wheel bearing

housings.

INSTALLATION

1. Raise subframe assembly with transmission jack OTC 1785, or equivalent, then align ball joints with wheel bearing housing so that ball joint pins

can be connected to housings. Do not damage ball joint boots.

2. Install new clamping bolts and subframe mounting bolts. Do not tighten.
3. Raise subframe and install transmission mounts. Locating tabs of base plates must engage recess on subframe assembly.
4. Install new mounting bolts and washers for subframe assembly at front. Ribs on washers must face front of vehicle.
5. Loosen strap from subframe assembly, then lower transmission jack tool No. OTC 1785, or equivalent.
6. Tighten subframe assembly bolts, transmission mount bolts and ball joint clamping bolts to specifications.
7. Install alternator electrical wire protective tube.
8. Install sound insulation panel, then the wheels.
9. Lower vehicle, then remove engine support bridge tool No. 10-222A, or equivalent.
