Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Fiber Optic Plier Repair Set (VAS 6223)

‹› Protective Cap For Cable Connector (VAS 6223/9)

If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault-Finding" routine. 

Use the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051) to do so.

CAUTION!
‹› Switch off all electrical components.

‹› Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

Removing

In order to be able to remove Satellite Radio (R146), the mounting frame with Rear DVD Changer (R162) and Multimedia Signal Splitter (R181)
must be removed first.

Remove left luggage compartment side trim. 

-

Remove bolt - 2 - (3 Nm).

Remove Navigation System with CD Drive Control Module (J401) with mounting frame - 1 - => [ Navigation System with CD Drive Control
Module ] See: Navigation System/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement.

Remove nuts - 3 -, - 5 - and -  6 - (3 Nm) on mounting frame - 4 -.
