Lower the rear final drive carefully until the flange/driveshaft is accessible. 

Measure Dimension a and dimension b.

‹› Distance between the flange and the pinon = dimension a

‹› Distance from the flange to the nut on the pinion = dimension b

Write down the dimensions.

Mark the location of the pinion nut on the pinion - arrow -.
